The FAQ published here is based on Usenet articles and contributions by Kent Paul Dolan, Ron Graham, John Kennedy, Ken Lee, Robert Elton Maas, W. David Rohwer, Ilana Stern, Gregory Steshenko, Alex Thurston, Al Todak, Sergey Viznyuk, Dimitri Vulis, Steven Weigand, Monika Weikel, and many others; it was compiled by Dimitri Vulis and was last edited by him on 01 Mar 2005. This version of the FAQ was created in July 2005.
The FAQ is an attempt to summarize questions asked periodically on misc.jobs.misc and other job-related forums and the answers usually posted. There's more emphasis on job search questions than on workplace questions because they seem to be discussed more often on Usenet. Not all the answers are necessarily correct. They are all opinions. When there is no general agreement, several points of view may be given in response to the same question. For simplicity, 'she' and 'they' refer to the prospective employer and 'you' to the candidate.
